This course will give practical tools for educators and parents to extend a productive struggle while learning authentically, creating a more meaningful connection with children. Educators are often eager to have a child answer questions to form logic around topics, but need to dive deeper and probe with questions that build more meaningful inquiry — this is the art of questioning and it's productive struggle. We'll discuss useful tips and strategies for questioning throughout the webinar as they relate to nature-based learning.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This course is ideal for anyone who facilitates nature-based education and outdoor learning, which may include: teachers and administrators in preschool, childcare, or elementary school settings; naturalists, environmental educators, or outdoor educators; wilderness survival enthusiasts; and parents.

MEET YOUR PRESENTER
Chantel Zimmerman has been teaching since 2007 beginning in the Newark school system as a 6th grade middle school science teacher and then, in 2014, working for the Ringwood School District as a third grade teacher. Both experiences gave Chantel the confidence, knowledge and perspective to create an outdoor program. Sensory Garden and Play evolved deep within her heart as she raised her twin daughters. Her philosophy and foundation for establishing Sensory Garden and Play was not centered around a business model. It 'bloomed' from her heart's intentions and desires for her children's education as well as the education of the community she serves.

*If you are unable to make it to the live session, don't worry! We will record the session to share with all registered individuals.
