Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

We strive to cultivate a culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and a sense of connectedness to one another and the natural world. We continually build on this commitment to ensure that all are welcomed and supported regardless of race, gender, age, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, and economic background. We actively work to ensure programs reflect the diversity of local communities in the faces, voices, and experiences we offer.

ANBE is committed to providing access, equal opportunity and reasonable accommodation in its services, programs, activities, education and employment for individuals with disabilities. To request disability accommodation contact us at least ten days in advance at: 443-233-0707 or email programs@anbe.org.

The work of inclusion is a collective responsibility, one that is essential to our vision of "nature-based education, outdoor learning, and play for all."  We are an inclusive, anti-racist community of educators. We denounce racism and the social injustice that many BIPOC communities continue to face because of deep-seated, systemic racism. We recognize that the work of untangling racist and biased practices is on-going and we are committed to the honest work needed to address its many forms. We continue to review and revise our approaches to lift the voices of all communities, ensure more equitable access to programs, and more fully realize our mission.

The following resources can help shed light on the role of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice in nature-based education.
