In honor of Black History Month, we invite you to join us in recognizing the historical and present-day contexts of unequitable nature access for BIPOC communities. There are countless benefits to spending time in nature, especially for young people. But, the barriers to learning outdoors can be great, and sometimes seemingly impossible to overcome. With guest presenter, Dr. Don Rakow, we will explore the barriers to nature access and discuss ways to overcome those challenges. This session is designed for those who are new to nature-based learning, but all levels of experience are welcome.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Don Rakow is an assoc. professor of horticulture in the Cornell School of Integrative Plant Science. Don directs the Nature Rx@Cornell program, and co-directs the Campus Nature Rx Network. Don also conducts research and writes about the human benefits of time in nature.
